Crypto-assets, including fan tokens, are highly volatile and exposed to cyber risks. You may lose all or part of your capital. Nothing on this site is investment advice.

The main risks

• Loss of capital: the value of a fan token can fall sharply or to zero. Only use money you can afford to lose.
• Volatility: prices can move by large amounts within hours, often around matches, transfers, results or announcements.
• Cyber risks: exchanges and wallets can be hacked or fail; phishing and scams target token holders. If you lose access to a wallet, your tokens are usually lost.
• Liquidity: many fan tokens trade on few platforms and in small volumes, so selling at the displayed price may not be possible.
• Issuer and club dependence: a token's utility (polls, rewards) depends on its issuer and club, which can change or end it.
• Regulation: rules on crypto-assets differ between countries and change over time; some platforms are not authorised where you live.
